Video from Samos

Samos is an island with lots of opportunities. There are good roads and many busses. You can find accommodation all over the island. The most obvious are Samos Town, Kokkari or Pythagorion.
No. 1 on my grading scale is Pythagorion. It is a little village only 5 minutes taxi ride from the airport. If you arrive by airplane to Samos it is really easy to get here. There are lots of small hotels and pensions close to the port. If you arrive in high-season there are lots of tourists, but if you can avoid July and August, it is fairly peaceful without being deserted.

Beaches:  There are a lot of good beaches on Samos. Psili Ammos is probably the best. A lovely sandy beach with view to Turkey. A bus from Pythagorion is missing, but a taxi out there costs approx. 1500 drx. There is a small boat going out there form Pythagorion to. At Kokkari you will also find fine beaches - a few kilometers to the west Tsamadou and Lemonakia is situated. Both are nice, but with stones.

Boat trips: There are a lot of boat trips to choose from. You can go from Pythagorion to the small island Samiopoula (approx. 1 hour). There is a small beach and a tavern.

Beaches - west of Kokkari.
